The founder of Shinemama is Katharyne, a doula and childbirth educator, British born and living in San Diego, California.  She has three children and believes that birth is a powerful, life-changing, world-changing event.

She is dedicated to kind parenting – kindness to mamas, dads and of course to children.  She strongly believes that birth can be a gentle, positive experience and is devoted to helping mamas and their families everywhere to enjoy pregnancy and parenting to their very fullest potential.
